I was a contingent worker who got shorter terms than expected due to the departmental changes.

I lost all my respect for my supervisor pretty quickly.
Here are some reasons why:
1 She favored particular team members
2 She was at fault but kept shifting the blame to me during 1 on 1
3 She manipulates people into doing more than they should
4 She did not give me proper offboarding process.

At the end, I am glad I don't get to see that fake human being.
It's funny how she kept implying how i'm doing a fine job and that i'll be offered a permanent position at the end of the terms.
As soon as I showed the signs that I have my own principles and that unlike the others, I do not flatter just for the personal gain, she changed the tone.

She kept insisting she's flooded with work, yet every time I cross path with her, she always went to the permanent employees and chatted non-stop. She'd only come talk to me if I was with the others just to show that she made an effort.

In the end, I just expected all the team to gather around for maybe 15 to 20 minutes so that I can say thank you, but no.
She came to me while I was saying goodbye to someone, interrupted me then made (failed attempted) jokes.
Offboarding for me was just "Our management appreciates you for doing the hard work. Did HR contact you with another opportunity?"

She disgusts me of being so fake. I'm glad I refused to play into her game and be her puppet.

Managers, treat contingent worker with respect and don't make him/her ostracized.
You never know if you'll cross path on the same company or as business partners.

Jeff,
You are hilarious and amazingly talented. I can't believe I'm just now discovering you. I've signed up for your newsletter and look forward to hearing more from you. I love that you incorporate humor into everything you do, and specifically, in your training videos. I'm a career freelance and curriculum writer, and a firm believer that humor is key to making training engaging and memorable.

Keep up the terrific work!
