Hi Paul,

I believe the charges against the officer are for second and third degree murder; therefore, that's the term I used. I'm not a lawyer so I can't predict what the ultimate punishment will be but I think we all agree things like this shouldn't happen and hopefully these conversations move us in the direction of making sure they don't.

Hope you're well.

Hey Jeff,

I agree with all you said...but placating the politicians by calling George Floyd's death a murder...twice...that goes too far IMO.

Yea...I know it was wrong. But I doubt the police officer woke up that morning and said...I'm going to kill someone today...just maybe George Floyd.

I agree 100% with Manslaughter but, not murder.

And I bet if that is what the DA goes after...he might lose.

noun
the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.
"the stabbing murder of an off-Broadway producer"
verb
kill (someone) unlawfully and with premeditation.
"somebody tried to murder Joe"
